STEM RACING!
STEM Racing is an international competition, organized in Brazil by the collaboration of Formula 1 with FIA (International Motorsport Federation). The student project ranges ages from 11 to 19 years old and aims to improve skills in areas of knowledge both learned in the classroom and pursued for professional life. The STEM Racing project is approximately 19 years old and started in England, but the initiative arrived in Brazil only in 2014.

THE COMPETITION
The teams, consisting of 3 to 6 students, must create a "mini" company. They collaborate, design, analyze, manufacture, test, and compete with cars made from model blocks sent by the FIA, using CAD/CAM design tools.
The goal is to broaden perceptions of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, creating a learning environment for young people to develop hard and soft skills. Additionally, there are other areas explored in the competition, such as project management, entrepreneurship, and social design. It is necessary to perform well in all areas to become the overall champion of the competition.

IN BRAZIL
Nine seasons ago, STEM Racing started in Brazil. Since then, twelve teams have qualified to participate in the world stage, with the highest placement being seventh place internationally.
Among these teams, two are from Criciúma, including Alpha Scuderia, which in 2022 competed as a collaborative team (Brazil and Ireland - team Volta Racing).
Additionally, in 2024, the team participated for the second time in the world stage and achieved the best Brazilian placement in the country's history.
